Obesity Management Isn't Always Weight Loss

Managing obesity is not just about weight loss.
For some people, losing weight may not be the best thing to do.
Sometimes, living your best life at the weight you are at, is likely to bring you more health and happiness than pursing a lower number on the scale.
Before embarking on any form of plan to reduce your weight you should have a plan that is sustainable, balanced and something you can do for the longer term.
The problem with 'short termism' is that it often results in weight gain, and may also result in the loss of lean mass- both of which lead to poorer health outcomes.
Before changing your lifestyle be honest with yourself about what it is you really want to change. What is it that you're not happy with? And make sure whatever the plan is- it's something that you want to do.
There can be a lot of societal pressure to look a certain way or take particular actions but ultimately this is all about building a life that you actually want to live.
