Getting GLP-1 Medications

Some will tell you it's too easy to get hold of GLP-1 medications. Fill in a quick online questionnaire and it will arrive at your door the next day. You don't even need to see a clinician. There are worries about people getting hold of these medicines who don't need them, or for whom they could actively be harmful.

On the other hand you then have people who need these medicines and can't get hold of them... whether it's because of price rises, they've lost the weight and now can't get a pharmacy to give them maintenance doses or their local pharmacies are simply out of stock.

The way we deliver medicine and healthcare in the UK is changing. And unfortunately it can mean varying levels of care and support.

A few important things to remember when it comes to GLP-1s are that...

  1. These are prescription medications with risks. We only know the risks for those people who these medications are intended for. If you don't fall into that group, then we cannot predict the risks.

  2. If you do not obtain your medication from a registered pharmacy then you have no guarantees as to what the 'medicine' you've obtained is. It may not even contain any GLP-1. Common scams are people selling 'unused' medication on social media platforms. NEVER engage with this.

  3. Taking prescription medication without support and guidance can lead to poorer outcomes. With GLP-1s, unless appropriate lifestyle changes accompany taking these medications you can end up doing more harm than good to your body.

Your health is worth investing in, and with the right support and using legitimate providers and pharmacies, you can achieve success.

As you take this important step, remember that you are not alone. Many individuals are on similar journeys, and with the right support, you can reach your goals.
